WG5: Plant-Disease complexes
Working Group Leader: Lisa Munk,
KVL, DK
This working group will focus on diseases in low-input and organic farming.
In this system, pathogen diversity is generally higher at both species and
genotype levels which may result in multiple interactions and pathogen
competition on the individual host plant. Therefore it is relevant to focus on
disease complexes rather than individual diseases. The diseases to be
investigated are those of particular relevance in low¬input/organic farming, and
special attention will be given to four areas: seed-borne diseases, the Fusarium
complex, multiple diseases, and disease assessment methods; however only those
included in projects with national funding will be considered. Ring tests of
selected pathogens will be either continued from an earlier COST Action (817) or
initiated for pathogens of importance in low-input/organic crops in Europe.
